Filing of Audited Financial Statements for Charities

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica recognizes the challenges that exist with the simultaneous filing deadlines for audited financial statements of respective entities.

The Institute raised this matter with the relevant Ministry and the Department of Cooperatives and Friendly Societies, and approval was granted in 2017 for charitable organisations that need additional time for filing of audited financial statements to request a filing extension of three (3) months to June 30th in each calendar year. The request for extension must be made before March 31st of each year.

Please note that a written request should be submitted by the registered charitable organization to the Charities Authority.
